Akasya Asıltürkmen — Biography

Akasya Asıltürkmen was born on 14 April 1977 in Istanbul, into a family with Circassian, Georgian, Laz and Turkish roots. As a child she joined an acting course run by the Ali Poyrazoğlu Theatre, and around the same time made her screen debut in the 1996 film İstanbul Kanatlarımın Altında. She went on to graduate from the theatre department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, and performed with companies including Semaver Kumpanya and the Istanbul State Theatre while also working as an acting coach. She continues to take on television, dubbing, film and stage projects.
