Zeynep Irgat — Biography

Born on 14 July 1954 in Istanbul, Zeynep Irgat is the daughter of writer Mina Urgan and poet-actor Cahit Irgat, and the sister of actor Mustafa Irgat. She graduated from the French Language and Literature Department of Istanbul University's Faculty of Letters.

She began her artistic career in 1977 by joining the theatre courses of Dostlar Tiyatrosu, going on to act in numerous plays and work as an assistant director at the Istanbul City Theatres and the Istanbul State Theatre; she also trained on stage as an intern at the Comédie Française in Paris.

On television she is best remembered for playing the servant Ayşe in the series Bizimkiler, and later appeared in Baharın Bittiği Yer, Komşu Komşu, Günahım Neydi Allahım, Canım Ailem, Yağmur Zamanı, Yemin, Son Tercih and Küçük Hanımefendi; between 2015 and 2019 she played the character Hediye in the ATV series Kırgın Çiçekler.
