Oath (Yemin) (translated)

Yemin (internationally known as The Promise) is a Turkish drama series produced by Karamel Yapım for Kanal 7. It premiered on 18 February 2019 and ran for four seasons, concluding in 2022 after 503 episodes. Ayhan Özen directed the first two seasons, with Hakan Arslan and Reyhan Pekar taking over from the third; filming took place in Istanbul.

The story follows Reyhan, a humble young woman raised in a traditional environment who is left orphaned after her mother's death. Hikmet Tarhun, one of the country's wealthiest men and someone she loves like an uncle, asks her to marry his son Emir. Reyhan is grateful but reluctant to wed a stranger, yet a secret Hikmet keeps from everyone compels her toward the marriage. Hikmet's wife Cavidan, who has grander plans for her son, refuses to accept a country girl as a bride and does everything to end the union. Meanwhile, Emir's uncle Kemal, a lawyer and single father to five-year-old Masal, finds his life transformed when Leyla unexpectedly enters their world. Özge Yağız and Gökberk Demirci lead the cast.
