Melahat Abbasova — Biography
Born Məlahət Elman qızı Abbasova in Baku on 8 July 1966, Melahat Abbasova is a Turkish-Azerbaijani stage, film and television actress.
After graduating from the Azerbaijan Institute of Fine Arts' Department of Theatre and Film Acting, she settled in Turkey through marriage; she has performed with Istanbul's City Theatres since 1991 and has served as deputy artistic director there since 2016.
A recipient of Azerbaijan's Honored Art Worker title, she has appeared in productions including Binbir Gece, Mahmut & Meryem, Seddülbahir 32 Saat and Yemin.
Alongside acting in film and television, she also directs for the stage.
