Vandal

Vandal is a 2013 French-Belgian drama. Shot in French and running 84 minutes, it was directed by Hélier Cisterne. Gilles Taurand and Katell Quillévéré are credited among its writers, and Cisterne is also listed in the screenwriting team.

At its centre is Cherif, a rebellious and solitary teenager who has been taken in by the police several times. After his latest offence he is placed under the supervision of his uncles, who enrol him in a summer school and give him a part-time job, which is his last chance. Then he sees young people spray-painting the city walls at night, and a new world opens up for him: the world of graffiti.

Zinedine Benchenine plays Chérif, Chloé Lecerf Elodie and Émile Berling Thomas, with Jean-Marc Barr as Paul. Ramzy Bedia, Marina Foïs, Brigitte Sy, Corinne Masiero, Isabelle Sadoyan, Sophie Cattani and Kévin Azaïs complete the cast.
