The Nina B. Affair

Movie · 1961 · 2 people

The Nina B. Affair (L'Affaire Nina B.) is a 1961 French-West German drama film directed by Robert Siodmak, starring Nadja Tiller, Pierre Brasseur and Walter Giller. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Austrian writer Johannes Mario Simmel, which drew on a real and notorious murder case that shook Germany in 1957.

Shot in black and white at the Billancourt Studios in Paris and the Bavaria Studios in Munich, with sets by art director Jean d'Eaubonne, the film carries a distinct film-noir mood. Because it rests on the same true story and again features Nadja Tiller in the leading role, it is regarded as a companion piece to Siodmak's 1958 production about the same affair. The screenplay was written by Roger Nimier.
