Sardunya (film)

Sardunya, internationally released as Geranium, is a 2021 film written and directed by Cagil Bocut as his first feature-length work.

The film centres on Defne, a 19-year-old university student in Istanbul, who returns to Urla to be with her father after learning that he has suffered a stroke. Father and daughter try to repair their relationship during this difficult time together, though the presence of an ailing aunt in the same house makes the situation even more complicated.

İlayda Elif Elhih stars as Defne, with Ali Seçkiner Alıcı as her father. The film earned nominations and awards at several festivals, including the Istanbul International Film Festival.
