Sandokan

Sandokan is a 2025 Italian-French television series inspired by Emilio Salgari's novels about the pirate hero and by the 1976 TV adaptation that became a classic in Italy. Directed by Jan Maria Michelini and Nicola Abbatangelo and produced by Lux Vide with Rai Fiction, the series aired on Rai 1 between 1 and 16 December 2025 and is also available on various streaming services worldwide.

Set in Borneo in 1841, the story follows Sandokan, played by Can Yaman, a pirate sailing the China Sea with his loyal companion Yanez. An ancient prophecy, his forbidden love for the beautiful Marianna, and the ruthless pursuit by Lord Brooke, a bold English adventurer who loves the same woman, push him toward choices that will turn him into the "Tiger of Malaysia." The cast also includes Alessandro Preziosi, Ed Westwick and John Hannah.
