Mind the Gap

Mind the Gap (Swedish: Se upp för dårarna) is a 2007 Swedish comedy-drama directed by Helena Bergström from a screenplay by Denize Karabuda. The film follows young Yasmin Demiroglu, whose family moved from Turkey to Stockholm; her father, once a respected heart surgeon in Turkey, now earns his living driving a subway train in Sweden.

Determined to make her mark on society, twenty-year-old Yasmin dreams of one day becoming Sweden's Minister of Justice. She enrolls at the police academy, where she strikes up a friendship with a Swedish girl. Featuring Korhan Abay among its cast, the film offers a warm-hearted take on alienation, pride, prejudice and friendship.
