The Kingdom (Krallık)

The Kingdom is a 2007 American-German action thriller directed by Peter Berg from a screenplay by Matthew Michael Carnahan. The film follows FBI Special Agent Fleury and his team, who are sent to Saudi Arabia to investigate a bombing of a housing compound for foreign workers; the fictional plot draws on the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing and the 2003 Riyadh compound bombings.

Starring Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman and Ashraf Barhom, the film sees the agents work alongside Saudi security forces to track down the terrorists behind the attack. After premiering at the Edinburgh International Film Festival, it was released in the United States on September 28, 2007, sparking controversy in some Middle Eastern countries and receiving mixed critical reviews.
