How I Ended This Summer

How I Ended This Summer (original title: Kak ya provyol etim letom) is a 2010 Russian drama film written and directed by Alexei Popogrebski. Produced by Channel One Russia and shot in 2008–2009, it premiered on 17 February 2010 at the Berlin Film Festival and opened in Russian cinemas on 1 April 2010.

The film follows a young student and an experienced but reclusive meteorologist who spend a summer together at a small research station in the Arctic Ocean. The lead roles are played by Grigori Dobrıgin and Sergei Puskepalis. Competing for the Golden Bear at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival, it won the Silver Bear for Best Actor, shared by both leads, and the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for cinematographer Pavel Kostomarov. The same year it also took the top prize for best film at the London Film Festival.
