Fantozzi against everyone (Fantozzi contro tutti)

The hapless accountant Ugo Fantozzi, played by the man who invented him, Paolo Villaggio, gets his third outing in Fantozzi contro tutti ("Fantozzi against everyone"), an Italian comedy from 1980. Every ordinary problem he meets turns, in his hands, into a private catastrophe. The film is adapted from Villaggio's book of the same name and is the last in the series inspired by his books; all later films are based on original scripts.

The first two films, Fantozzi (1975) and Il secondo tragico Fantozzi (1976), were directed by Luciano Salce. This time directing passed to Neri Parenti and Villaggio, and he went on to direct six more. Leonardo Benvenuti, Piero De Bernardi and Villaggio wrote the script.

The film's biggest change is that Fantozzi's wife Pina passes from Liù Bosisio to Milena Vukotic, who keeps the part for the rest of the series except for Superfantozzi, where Bosisio returns. In the first scene with her, Fantozzi mistakes his wife for a beggar and apologises. The new Pina is firmer than the earlier one and at times raises her voice at her husband. It is the last screen appearance of Giuseppe Anatrelli, who died the following year, and the first without Anna Mazzamauro's Miss Silvani. Gigi Reder and Diego Abatantuono are also in the cast.
