Men (Erkekler) (translated)

Erkekler (Men) is a Turkish comedy directed by Faruk Aksoy and released in cinemas on 20 December 2013. Aksoy wrote the screenplay together with Yılmaz Okumuş and Hilal Çelenk, while his own company, Aksoy Film, produced the picture and Tiglon handled distribution. Oğuz Kaplangı composed the score and Mirsat Herovic served as director of photography. The film marked Aksoy's return to comedy three years after his box-office hit Fetih 1453.

The story follows Adem Yunus, a celebrated lawyer with a thriving career and a happy marriage who nonetheless cheats on his wife — a lapse that baffles him as much as everyone else. Determined to understand why men are unfaithful, he begins probing the male psyche, a quest that brings him to Nazım, a renowned psychiatrist whose own marriage and family life are quietly falling apart. As Adem recounts his rather ordinary story, Nazım is forced to confront his own troubles.

Fikret Kuşkan plays Adem opposite Ali Poyrazoğlu as Dr. Nazım and Asuman Dabak as Zerrin, with Güneş Emir as Hale among the supporting cast. Running around two hours, the film blends its comedy with dramatic and sentimental notes.
