But It's Nothing Serious

But It's Nothing Serious (original title: Ma non è una cosa seria) is a 1936 Italian romantic comedy directed by Mario Camerini. The film is based on Luigi Pirandello's 1918 play of the same name, which had already been brought to the screen in 1921. Camerini co-wrote the screenplay with Ercole Patti and Mario Soldati. The leads are Vittorio De Sica, Elisa Cegani, and Assia Noris; it was also an early film for Vivi Gioi, whose stage name "Vivien Diesca" was devised as a tribute to De Sica.

Regarded as a typical example of the "white telephone" comedies set among wealthy, carefree circles, the film was shot at the Caesar Film studios in Rome, with sets designed by art director Gastone Medin. The supporting cast includes Guido Celano, Elsa De Giorgi, and Ugo Ceseri. Two years later, Camerini remade the story in German as The Man Who Couldn't Say No.
