Phoenix (ANKA)

Anka is a 2022 Turkish action-drama directed by Süleyman Mert Özdemir from a screenplay by Ozan Akbaba, who also takes the lead role. Akbaba stars opposite Deniz Işın, with the ensemble rounded out by Engin Hepileri, Uğur Uzunel, Serdar Orçin, Atilla Şendil and Ali Yoğurtçuoğlu.

The story follows Murat, a man who sinks into despair after losing his family and everything he possesses. Leaning on friends he regards as brothers and on an older figure he treats as a father, he struggles to reclaim the life he once had, passing through great hardship on the way. His journey culminates in a major car race that he wins behind the wheel of the very vehicle in which his family was lost.

Shot in Istanbul, the production staged part of its action material inside MGX Studio, a virtual production facility.
