Aloïse

Aloïse is a 1975 French drama film directed by Liliane de Kermadec, who co-wrote the screenplay with André Téchiné. The film portrays its title character at two stages of her life: Isabelle Huppert plays Aloïse as a young woman, while Delphine Seyrig embodies her in adulthood, with Michael Lonsdale and Jacques Weber among the supporting ensemble. Running roughly 115 minutes, the picture was selected for the 1975 Cannes Film Festival, where it was presented to audiences. Over the decades it has come to be regarded as a work deserving rediscovery; scholar Tim Palmer devoted an essay in French Screen Studies to reviving interest in Kermadec's film and reassessing its place in French cinema of the period.
