Sevda Erginci — Biography

Sevda Erginci was born on 3 October 1993 in Istanbul to a father of Arab descent from Mardin and a mother whose family had migrated from Macedonia. At 15 she debuted on stage in Semaver Kumpanya's Paki ve Sevgi Çiçekleri, later trained at Kenter Theatre, and completed her formal studies at the State Conservatory.

In 2012 she played Ayşe in Star TV's Koyu Kırmızı, a production that also featured Ozan Güven and Özgü Namal, and also took a role that year in the period drama Veda; she then reprised Ayşe on Karagül during 2013-2015. She debuted on film in 2015 with Onur Ünlü's Uzaklarda Arama; after leading roles on Ver Elini Aşk and Hayat Bazen Tatlıdır she played Zeynep Yılmaz in Yasak Elma, İpek Gencer in Sevgili Geçmiş in 2019, and Turna Hatun in Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu in 2020.

She followed with Ezo Bozdağlı on Elkızı (2021), Zeynep Gören on Seni Kalbime Sakladım (2022), and Özge Günay on Kül Masalı (2024), and won acting prizes from both İKÜ and Medipol. She married architect Efe Saydut in Greece in September 2025; she then starred in Bir Anne Hakkında, which premiered at the Shanghai Film Festival.
