Serkan Altunorak — Biography

Born Serkan Demir Altunorak, the actor is a native of Ankara; his birth date is December 24, 1976. He graduated from the theatre department at Hacettepe University and later from the fine arts conservatory at Mimar Sinan University. He first appeared on screen as Unisex Bekir in Ayrılsak da Beraberiz (1999); while working on İmkansız Aşk in 2006, a scene involving a Russian-roulette prop left him seriously hurt when the gun turned out to be loaded, and his slow recovery led the show to be pulled off air.

He debuted on film with Gomeda (2007) and that same year played Merdan in Kara Duvak; he then took the role of Umut in Sınıf (2008) and portrayed a conservatory instructor in Melekler Korusun (2009). After playing Suat in Bir Günah Gibi (2011), he had his real breakout around the same time as Taşlıcalı Yahya in Muhteşem Yüzyıl. His widest fame, though, came once Cesur ve Güzel — in which he played Bülent — was exported abroad as "Brave and Beautiful."

He kept working through Evli ve Öfkeli and Aşkın Kanunu (2015), Cebimdeki Yabancı (2018), the role of Erdem Karaca in Sana Söz (2021) and Zeytin Ağacı (2022), followed by parts in Another Self and Wild Abandon, then as Ozan Adar in The Blue Exile in 2023. He is also a Turkish-language voice actor, having dubbed Bugs Bunny, and continues to perform on stage in the play Dalgakıran.
