Savaş Yurttaş — Biography

Savaş Yurttaş (January 1, 1944, Kayseri - April 8, 2002, Ankara) was a Turkish theatre, film and television actor. While studying at Istanbul University, he began his artistic career with the university's youth theatre in Sermet Çağan's play Ayak Bacak Fabrikası. On screen he appeared in films such as Sürü (1978), Bebek (1980), Davacı (1987), Gizli Yüz (1991), Sarı Mercedes (1992) and Şellale (2001). Television audiences knew him above all from the series Bizimkiler, in which he appeared from 1989 until his death. He died in Ankara in 2002 and is remembered as one of the distinctive character actors of Turkish cinema.
