Reha Erdem — Biography

Reha Erdem is a Turkish film director, screenwriter, and editor, born on November 9, 1960, in Istanbul. After studying at Galatasaray High School and Boğaziçi University, he completed his cinema education at Paris VIII University and made his feature debut with the Franco-Turkish co-production "A Ay" in 1989; a restored version of the film returned to screens in 2025.

Erdem has built a body of work marked by a distinctive narrative style, including "Kaç Para Kaç," "Korkuyorum Anne," "Beş Vakit," "Hayat Var," "Kosmos," "Jîn," "Şarkı Söyleyen Kadınlar," "Koca Dünya," and "Neandria," on which he frequently served as writer and editor as well as director. His work has been recognized at the Golden Orange Film Festival, including awards for best screenplay and best director.
