Merve Sevi — Biography

Merve Sevi was born on 24 July 1987 in Istanbul. Her family comes from Arhavi in Artvin province and she has said she is of Laz descent. After finishing high school she began appearing in television commercials and went on to study theatre at Yeditepe University.

Her early screen work came in the series Omuz Omuza and Hayat Bilgisi, and she became widely known after sharing the lead with Barış Akarsu in Yalancı Yarim. In 2006 she joined the cast of the medical drama Doktorlar, and she has also appeared in productions such as Dağlar Delisi, Hayat Güzeldir, İhanet, İzmir Çetesi and Gülcemal.

On film she played Zehra in Rina (2010) and Meryem in Selam: Bahara Yolculuk (2015), with further roles in Şeytanın Çocukları-El Ebyaz, Me Nokta Ali and Baba Beni Güldürsene. She married quietly in 2017, and in May 2026 her father, Mehmet Sevi, died.
