Cüneyt Türel — Biography
Cüneyt Türel was a Turkish actor and voice artist, born in Istanbul on 26 October 1942. From 1965 to 1995 he worked as both an actor and a director at the Istanbul City Theatres, and after co-founding the Aksanat Production Theatre in 1995 he appeared in nearly every one of its productions until the theatre closed in 2007, earning several awards for his acting and directing along the way.
On screen, he became known for playing Haldun Göksun in the television series Doktorlar and for roles in films such as Rina and Çakal (The Jackal), and he also left his mark through voice work in films and documentaries. His death in Istanbul on 1 May 2012 drew widespread tributes from Turkey's theatre community.
