Meral Zeren — Biography
Meral Zeren, born Çiğdem Gümüş on 6 June 1956 in Adana, is a Turkish film actress. She left school early and began performing as a singer on stage at the age of thirteen; her stage presence caught the attention of film producers, and after adding a few years to her age she made her screen debut in 1971 in Natuk Baytan's Battal Gazi Destanı.
Across the first half of the 1970s she became a familiar face of Yeşilçam's fast-paced film industry, appearing in titles such as Kanlı Para, Yanaşma, Bitirim Kardeşler, Dert Bende, Enayi, Hanzo and Nereye Bakıyor Bu Adamlar — sharing the screen with Kemal Sunal in Hanzo among other leading comedy stars of the era.
She went on to work in television films and series in later decades, remaining active in acting into the 2000s.
