Kevork Malikyan — Biography

Kevork Malikyan, born on 2 June 1943 in Diyarbakır, is a British actor of Armenian descent who also teaches acting. Sent to Istanbul at age ten for a religious education, he studied at the Karagözyan Orphanage and the Surp Haç Tıbrevank school before moving to London at twenty to train for the stage. He made his film debut in 1970 with The Man Who Haunted Himself, though he remains best recognized for playing Kazim in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. His television credits include Max Papandrious on the sitcom Mind Your Language, while his film work spans Rady in the 2004 remake of Flight of the Phoenix, Inspector Durmaz in Taken 2, and a role in the Armenian genocide drama The Cut. At the end of 2011 he returned to Turkey after decades abroad, later taking the recurring part of Parvus on the series Payitaht: Abdülhamid.
