İpek Yaylacıoğlu — Biography

İpek Yaylacıoğlu Usta was born on 31 July 1984 in Istanbul; after Nişantaşı Işık High School she completed a degree in advertising at Istanbul Bilgi University, studied millinery in London, and took courses in diction and graphic design. She appeared on camera from a young age in commercials for brands such as Ziraat Bankası and Profilo, then began her screen career in 2005 as Nalan in the series Ihlamurlar Altında, a role that also made her known across the Arab world. She went on to appear in Senden Başka, Elif, Çemberin Dışında and Kavak Yelleri, and played Saadet in the 2008 film Başka Semtin Çocukları. Starting in 2009 she spent a decade playing Pınar Akdoğan, a married mother of two, in Arka Sokaklar, leaving the series in 2019; during the same period she also appeared as Eda in the comedy Kardeş Payı. Alongside acting she runs her own design label, and in 2014 she married businessman Hakan Usta, with whom she has two children.
