Güler Ökten — Biography

Güler Ökten, whose full name is Servet Güler Kıpçak Ökten, was born on 14 November 1941 in Isparta. A conservatory graduate, she began her career in 1947 by appearing in a children's film, and from the 1960s she also performed on stage. Over the course of her career she appeared in films such as Sürü, Demiryol, Bir Demet Menekşe, At, Ses and Bana Şans Dile, and later took roles in Celal Tan ve Ailesinin Aşırı Acıklı Hikayesi in 2011 and İtirazım Var in 2014. Television audiences know her best for playing the doctor Türkan in the series Bizimkiler and for the role of Cevriye in Yaprak Dökümü. With a career spanning more than five decades across a large number of films and series, she has kept appearing in newer productions well into her later years.
