Göksel Kortay — Biography

Göksel Kortay (born 6 April 1939 in Istanbul) is a Turkish actress, voice actress, translator and lecturer.

After graduating from Robert College, she went to the United States on a Fulbright scholarship, studying acting and directing in theatre and television at Boston University and earning a diploma in English language and literature from the University of Michigan.

Back in Turkey she performed on stage with companies such as Dormen Tiyatrosu and Çevre Tiyatrosu, served for a time as president of TODER, and worked for many years as a lecturer at the Müjdat Gezen Arts Center. In 1979 she married actor Kerem Yılmazer. Known for the film Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım (1977) and series such as Ruhsar (as Menkıbe) and Tadımız Kaçmasın, she was honoured with a plaque at the 2024 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival marking sixty years on stage.
