Eva Robin's

Eva Robin's — Biography

Italian performer Eva Robin's has worked in film and on stage as an actress, and is also a model, singer and activist. Her most famous screen part came in Tenebrae, Dario Argento's horror film of 1982, and some cinema credits list her as Eva Coatti. She identifies as a transgender woman and has spoken about this publicly.

Born in Bologna, she has been working since 1979, and her screen work includes Hercules (1983) and The Adventures of Hercules (1985). She went on to play Rosita in Massacre Play (1989) and appeared in the series Valentina the same year. In the 1990s she took the part of a bearded woman in Luna e l'altra (1996), and in the 2000s she played Nicole Cardente in Bad Inclination (2003). In 2007 she appeared as a taxi driver in Andres and me; Il segreto di Rahil and Tutte le donne della mia vita also date from that year.

Her stage name is her own choice: it combines Eva Kant, a character from Italy's Diabolik comics, with the writer Harold Robbins, and after seeing the surname spelled "Robin's" while on holiday in Sardinia she adopted that spelling. Her friendship with Paolo Villaggio led her to meet Marta Marzotto, Bianca Jagger and Christian Bulgari, as well as industrialists such as Barilla.
