Hercules
Hercules is a 1983 Italian-American fantasy adventure film written and directed by Luigi Cozzi. Bodybuilder-turned-actor Lou Ferrigno stars in the title role, supported by Brad Harris, Sybil Danning, and William Berger. Loosely inspired by Greek mythology and echoing elements of Cozzi's earlier science fiction film Starcrash, the story follows Hercules as he confronts King Minos, who seeks to seize control of the world. Along the way the hero battles giant robots brought to life through stop motion animation. The score was composed by Pino Donaggio. Made on a modest budget, the film drew largely negative reviews, yet it performed reasonably well financially and gradually developed a cult following. Ferrigno returned to the role in the 1985 sequel The Adventures of Hercules, which Cozzi also wrote and directed.
