Ekrem Bora — Biography

Ekrem Bora, whose birth name was Ekrem Şerif Uçak, was a Turkish film and television actor born on March 4, 1932, in Ankara and who died on April 1, 2012, in Istanbul. He broke into Turkish cinema after winning a contest run by a film magazine, and over the following decades appeared in roughly 150 movies, working most heavily through the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. His credits include Acı Hayat, Gözleri Ömre Bedel, Yalnız Değiliz, Denizciler Geliyor, Yakılacak Kitap, Ayrılık, Kanlı Para, Çılgınlar, Baskın, Unutulmayanlar, Soğuktu ve Yağmur Çiseliyordu, and Yumuşak Ten. Later on he also took television roles in series such as Gümüş and Makber, and he received the Golden Orange Lifetime Achievement Award.
