Deniz Çakır — Biography

Deniz Çakır, born on 31 December 1982 in Ankara, is a Turkish actress and voice actress. She is a graduate of the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Theatre Department.

She drew attention with the role of Alev in her first television experience Kadın İsterse (2004); her real breakthrough came with the character Ferhunde in Yaprak Dökümü (2006). She took the lead role in the series İffet (2011), and her role as Şah Sultan in Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2013) brought her international fame. She portrayed Meryem in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz (2015), then appeared in Masumiyet (2021) and Aslında Özgürsün (2022). The series Çarpıntı (2025), in which she starred, ended early.

Her feature films include 40 (2009), Kako Si? (2009) and Ya Sonra (2011); she has also done the Turkish dubbing of many foreign productions. She is married to Bilgehan Baykal.
