Deniz Baysal — Biography

Deniz Baysal was born on 5 April 1991 in Karşıyaka, İzmir. She attended Karşıyaka Primary School and Teğmen Ali Rıza Akıncı Anatolian High School, then studied international trade at Manisa Celal Bayar University. Acting came early: from the age of ten she trained at the Karşıyaka Municipal Theatre and spent about ten years on its stage, encouraged into the profession by her theatre teacher.

Her screen career began in 2011 with Nisan in FOX's Derin Sular, followed by Bitmeyen Şarkı and Babalar ve Evlatlar. She gained recognition as Karaca Yılmaz in Aşk Ekmek ve Hayaller and a large following as Kainat Gencer in Kaçak Gelinler. In Beyaz Yalan she played two young women, Alara and Melek, who share nothing but a face. Her breakthrough came in 2017–2018 with the lead role of Hazan Çamkıran in Fazilet Hanım ve Kızları, and she played the prosecutor Derya in Söz.

On film she portrayed the teacher Mine in 7. Koğuştaki Mucize. She went on to play Ela in Hizmetçiler, Zehra Balaban in the TRT 1 series Teşkilat, Yasemin in Ne Gemiler Yaktım and Ayşe in the short-lived Kalpazan. Since 2025 she has starred opposite Ulaş Tuna Astepe as Esme in Taşacak Bu Deniz, filmed in Trabzon. Married since 2019 to Barış Yurtçu, lead singer of the band Kolpa, she filed for divorce in July 2026.
