Ani İpekkaya — Biography
Ani İpekkaya (b. 1939, Istanbul) is a Turkish actress of Armenian descent working in theatre, film and television, as well as a voice actress. She took to the stage in 1961 and appeared in numerous plays at the İstanbul Şehir Tiyatroları and Tiyatro Boğaziçi, also directing several children's plays. On screen she appeared in productions such as Badi (1983), Hanım (1988), Karşılaşma (2003), Gitmek: My Marlon And Brando (2008), İzmir Çetesi (2011), Arkadaşım Max (2013), Ulan İstanbul (2014), Bana Masal Anlatma (2015) and Zilin Sesi (2015). Still devoted to the stage, she made the news in 2026 with an interview in which she said the younger generation would carry theatre into the future, and with an event bringing her together with her readers.
