Andreas Thiel — Biography
Andreas Thiel was a German film producer, director, screenwriter and journalist, born in 1957 in Düsseldorf. After many years working in television, he became a partner at the production company Corazón International, where in the final years of his career he helped bring a string of acclaimed German films to the screen, most of them directed by Fatih Akın: Solino (2002), Head-On (2004) and The Edge of Heaven (2007). One of the films he produced received the German Film Award. Thiel died in Istanbul on 23 September 2006, at the age of forty-eight.
