Vincent Wants to Sea

Vincent Wants to Sea (original title: Vincent will Meer) is a 2010 German tragicomic road movie directed by Ralf Huettner. Florian David Fitz, who also wrote the screenplay, stars as Vincent, a young man with Tourette syndrome who, after his mother's death, escapes his clinic together with fellow patients Alexander, who has obsessive-compulsive disorder, and Marie, who has anorexia, and sets off for the sea in Italy.

Produced by Olga Film, a subsidiary of Constantin Film, and shot between July and September 2009 in Germany, Austria, and Italy (including Munich, the Allgäu, Berchtesgaden, and Trieste), the film opened in Germany on April 22, 2010, drawing more than a million admissions and ranking as the fourth-most-successful German production of the year. It received several honors, including a Bambi, two Bavarian Film Awards, two German Film Awards, and a Jupiter Award, and was remade in the United States as The Road Within (2014). The cast also includes Turkish-German actor Tim Seyfi.
