Wolfgang Groos directed the 2012 German children's film Vampire Sisters (German: Die Vampirschwestern), mixing fantasy and comedy around a vampire theme. It adapts Franziska Gehm's bestselling novel series of the same name, with a screenplay by Ursula Gruber and Columbia Pictures as producer. It opened in Germany on 27 December 2012 and reached home video on 12 September 2013, and Turkish cinemas followed on 20 September 2013. It runs 97 minutes.

The story centres on twelve-year-old vampire sisters Silvania and Dakaria Tepes, who leave their home in Transylvania and settle in a town in Germany. Dakaria insists on going home, while Silvania tries to fit in with the new life. Their difficult school days get harder still when one of the neighbours turns out to be Dirk van Kombast, a vampire hunter. Marta Martin plays Silvania and Laura Roge plays Dakaria; Christiane Paul and Stipe Erceg appear as Elvira and Mihai Tepes. The cast also includes Michael Kessler and Jamie Bick.

The film competed for the audience prize in the best German film category at the German Film Awards. It draws on several of the novels in the series.
