Hope and Glory is a 1987 war comedy-drama written, directed and produced by John Boorman, drawing on his own childhood memories of growing up in London during World War II. A United Kingdom–Australia co-production by Goldcrest Films and Embassy Pictures, it was distributed by Columbia Pictures and takes its title from the patriotic anthem "Land of Hope and Glory".

The story is told through the eyes of nine-year-old Bill, the son of the Rowan family living in a London suburb. Left with his family after his father joins the army, Bill turns the terror of the Blitz into an adventure in his imagination, until the ruins on Rose Hill confront him with war's darker face. Starring Sebastian Rice-Edwards, Sarah Miles and David Hayman, the film won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, earned five Academy Award nominations and 13 BAFTA nominations, with Susan Wooldridge winning BAFTA's Best Supporting Actress award.
