Top Fighter

Top Fighter is a 1995 Hong Kong documentary directed by Toby Russell that surveys the history of martial arts cinema. Bringing together archive footage and interviews, the film profiles many of the genre's biggest stars, including Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Andy Lau, Yuen Biao, Jim Kelly and Don "The Dragon" Wilson, alongside Western martial arts movie figures such as Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bolo Yeung. Written by George Tan and produced by Eastern Heroes Video, it was released on 15 June 1995. Running roughly 100 minutes, the documentary traces the development of kung fu and action filmmaking, celebrating the careers of legendary fighters and examining Hong Kong cinema's lasting influence on the genre.
