The Sorrow of Mrs. Schneider

The Sorrow of Mrs. Schneider, known in Albanian as Trishtimi i zonjës Shnajder, is a 2008 Albanian-Czech romantic drama directed by Piro Milkani and his son Eno Milkani. Written by Piro Milkani and Radek Šofr, the screenplay draws on the director's own experiences during his student years in Prague. The film, shot in Czech, is a co-production of Albania, the Czech Republic and Greece.

Set in 1961, it follows an Albanian film student in Prague who shoots his graduation film at a small-town motorcycle factory, becomes fascinated by the freedom of Czech youth, and falls in love with the married wife of a police chief. Nik Xhelilaj stars alongside Anna Geislerová, Michele Placido and Tomáš Töpfer. Albania submitted the film for the 81st Academy Awards, though it was not ultimately nominated.
