Movie · 2003 · 2 people

The Fugitive (Italian: Il fuggiasco) is a 2003 Italian crime drama film written and directed by Andrea Manni. The picture adapts Massimo Carlotto's 1995 autobiographical novel of the same name, in which the author recounted the years he spent on the run in France and Mexico after being convicted in a notorious miscarriage of justice. The story follows a young man who, wrongfully condemned by the courts, is forced to abandon his life in Italy and survive under false identities abroad while trying to prove his innocence and reclaim his freedom. Daniele Liotti takes the lead role, with Roberto Citran among the supporting cast. Produced by Rai Cinema, the film earned Andrea Manni a David di Donatello nomination for Best New Director, marking a notable debut rooted in a real-life tale of injustice, exile and endurance.
