The Debutant

The Debutant (original title: Le Débutant) is a French comedy film released in cinemas in 1986. Directed by Daniel Janneau, it was scripted by Francis Perrin, who also appears among the cast. Running roughly 86 minutes, it belongs to the tradition of French screen comedy of its period.

Alongside Perrin, the ensemble features familiar figures of French cinema such as Jean-Claude Brialy, Dominique Lavanant, Julien Guiomar, Maurice Baquet, François Perrot, Christiane Jean, Christian Charmetant and Cécilia Hornus. Shot in the French language, the film was also distributed abroad under various translated titles.
