The Confessions

Directed by Roberto Andò, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Angelo Pasquini, the 2016 Italian-French thriller drama Le confessioni (The Confessions) unfolds during a G8 summit held at a luxury hotel on the German coast. As the world's most powerful economists gather to make decisions that will deeply affect the global economy, a mysterious Italian monk is also present, invited by IMF director Daniel Roché.

That night, Roché secretly asks the monk to hear his confession, but he is found dead the following morning, setting off a tense investigation. The international ensemble cast includes Toni Servillo, Daniel Auteuil, Connie Nielsen, Pierfrancesco Favino, Marie-Josée Croze, Lambert Wilson, Moritz Bleibtreu and Johan Heldenbergh.
