Territory

Territory (Russian: Территория) is a 2015 Russian adventure drama film written and directed by Aleksandr Melnik. Adapted from Oleg Kuvaev's novel of the same name, it also serves as a remake of the 1978 Soviet screen version directed by Aleksander Surin, which starred Donatas Banionis. Like the book, the film is based on real events and tells of the discovery of an enormous gold deposit in the Far North-East of the Soviet Union.

Running about 151 minutes, the film stars Konstantin Lavronenko, Grigori Dobrygin, Egor Beroev, Kseniya Kutepova and Yevgeny Tsyganov. Kuvaev described his novel as a story about a person's passion for their work, duty, honor and dignity, and the film carries that same focus on people who place genuine, great labor above all else.
