Super Grandma (Süper Babaanne) (translated)

Super Grandma is a Turkish television series broadcast on TRT 1 in 2008 as a co-production of Avşar Film and TRT. Directed by Serkan Kızıldağ and Temel Gürsu, written by Gani Müjde and Gökhan Karagülle, and produced by Şükrü Avşar, the show blends fantasy with family comedy and ended after 17 episodes in the same year.

The story begins when Sakine, a kind elderly woman living alone in a small town after losing her husband Ethem, gains extraordinary powers by eating the fruit of a carob tree struck by lightning. She travels to Istanbul to rescue her children from their unhappy marriages, using her newfound abilities first for her family and then against notorious criminals. Asuman Dabak, Murat Kubilay and Mustafa Uzunyılmaz star in the leading roles.
