Strangers
Strangers (original title Zarim) is a 2007 Israeli independent film co-directed by Guy Nattiv and Erez Tadmor. The pair's first feature together, it was developed from their award-winning 2004 short of the same name and mixes French, English and Hebrew. Set in Berlin during the 2006 FIFA World Cup, it follows Rana (Lubna Azabal), a Palestinian living in Paris, and Eyal, an Israeli raised on a kibbutz, who meet after accidentally swapping bags on a train. When Rana abruptly returns to France, Eyal follows her, but the outbreak of the 2006 Lebanon War and his call-up to the army turn the bond between the two strangers into a far more complicated test.
