So Sweet... So Perverse

Directed by Umberto Lenzi from a screenplay by Ernesto Gastaldi, this 1969 Italian-French co-production is a giallo thriller starring Carroll Baker, Jean-Louis Trintignant and Erika Blanc. Set in Paris, the story follows a woman who schemes to free herself of her wealthy but unfaithful husband. She enlists accomplices to carry out the plot, only to discover that she herself has become the target of the very people she trusted. Built around deceit, greed and betrayal, the film embodies the conventions of late-1960s giallo cinema: layered intrigue, unreliable characters and twists that upend the viewer's assumptions. Against the cool backdrop of Paris, no one is quite what they seem, and every alliance conceals a further trap. The picture runs about 92 minutes and was also released under titles such as the French 'Si douces, si perverses' and the German 'Kiss me, Kill me!'.
