Shahmaran, season 1

The first season of Shahmaran is a Turkish fantasy drama thriller released on Netflix in 2023, consisting of eight episodes. It follows Şahsu (Serenay Sarıkaya), a lecturer who travels to Adana to confront the grandfather she has long been estranged from. There she encounters a mysterious community tied to the ancient legend of Shahmaran, the queen of snakes, and finds herself at the heart of a prophecy that has waited millennia to be fulfilled. Her growing bond with Maran (Burak Deniz) draws her into secrets about her own past and destiny. Directed by Umur Turagay and written by Pınar Bulut, the season also stars Mustafa Uğurlu, Mahir Günşıray, Ebru Özkan, Hakan Karahan and Nilay Erdönmez.
