Senza bandiera
Without a Flag (Senza bandiera) is a 1951 Italian spy film directed by Lionello De Felice. The screenplay was written by Franco Brusati and Jacopo Comin, with music by Renzo Rossellini. Shot at the Cinecittà Studios in Rome, the film had its sets designed by art director Alfredo Montori and runs for about 120 minutes in Italian.
Set during World War I, the story follows an Italian officer who tries to dismantle an Austrian espionage network operating through neutral Switzerland, portraying the hidden intelligence struggle behind the front lines. Massimo Serato, Vivi Gioi, Paolo Stoppa and Walter Rilla lead the cast, which also features Umberto Spadaro, Heinz Moog, Carlo Ninchi, Laura Solari and Guido Celano as Sottocapo Poggi. Released in October 1951, the film earned roughly 141.5 million lire at the box office.
