Policemen

Policemen (Italian: Poliziotti) is a 1995 Italian-French crime drama directed by Giulio Base, from a screenplay by Franco Ferrini, Sandro Petraglia and Base himself. The cast includes Kim Rossi Stuart, Roberto Citran, Luigi Diberti and Alberto Dell'Acqua. The story draws on a real-life case that Pier Paolo Pasolini wrote about in the Corriere della Sera in July 1975, only months before his death: Vincenzo Rizzi, a police officer, took his own life after letting a suspect slip away. From this episode the film builds a drama about duty, guilt and the crushing pressure weighing on an officer who feels he has failed at his job.
