Kommissar X – Drei grüne Hunde

Kommissar X – Drei grüne Hunde, released in English as Death Trip, is a 1967 Eurospy thriller and the fourth of seven films in the Kommissar X series produced by Theo Maria Werner, loosely adapted from the detective novels published by Pabel Moewig. Co-directed by Rudolf Zehetgruber and Gianfranco Parolini from a screenplay by Giovanni Simonelli, the picture was a West German-Italian-Spanish co-production shot on location in Turkey. Tony Kendall and Brad Harris headline the cast alongside Olga Schoberová and Christa Linder. The story sends the private detective Kommissar X after an international crime syndicate known as the Three Green Dogs, an investigation that leads into the world of drug smuggling and kidnapping. True to the series' formula, the film mixes espionage intrigue with fistfights, chases and the bickering chemistry between Kendall's suave agent and Harris's tough sidekick, delivering the brisk pulp entertainment that made the Kommissar X films popular across Europe in the late 1960s.
